River Child picked up the award for Best Short Drama at the prestigious Celtic Media Festival held in Galway, Ireland, last week. The beautiful prize - a Gaelic sculpture - will be placed at the Screen Academy in Edinburgh to recognise all the valuable work contributed by the students there. Thank you!

River Child has been shortlisted for best short drama in the Celtic Media Festival which will take place in Galway, Ireland in mid April. Being the only Scottish short to be shortlisted, we obviously all feel very proud.

Victoria Independent Film Festival in British Columbia, Canada, has selected River Child as one of the short films to be screened in their program. The exact dates and times for the screenings will be announced in January. The festival is between February 1-10 2008.

It’s been a long, bumpy ride - but hey, we all knew that River Child would treat us like that. Written by Lin Anderson and directed by Damian Wood, Storymix is very proud that together with Screen Academy Scotland and South West Scotland Screen Commission we are now able to present the finished film. After having had two closed screenings for members of the cast and crew we are happy to say that it seems to have exceeded all expectations by a wide margin. It will also be available on DVD later in the summer .

Just like last year, Storymix will attend the film festival in Cannes between May 16th and May 25th. Storymix is developing feature drama A Gravedigger’s Tale, written and directed by Damian Wood. The development is scheduled to be finished in 2007, with production starting next year. More information about the project will be posted here in due course.
